One very useful purpose the right serves that is not often considered is that it serves as a very valuable litmus test for politicians, for these reasons: 1) It is clearly written into the U.S. Constitution, so those who seek to weaken or destroy it clearly do not respect the law and will not obey it. 2) Arms are a mechanism of power; that is, a means by which one person or group exercises contro...l over another; those who seek to concentrate that form of power into the hands of government can be expected to do the same with other forms of power as well (i.e., wealth, information, etc.). 3) Gun control is based in lies, so those who support it are either fools or liars; either way they are unqualified to serve in public office.
Politicians hate litmus tests, for good reasons: they make it hard for them to lie to us. As the Bible tells us, by their fruits ye shall know them...
